Things were going great this morning - I woke up and got ready, started the laundry, and took care of a few things before the kids woke up.
We were having the missionaries over for dinner, so I thought I would get a potato casserole made first thing this morning. I noticed that the water in the sink wasn't going down, so I started the disposal. Something had fallen in. It sounded horrible so I hurried and turned it off. I reached down to get whatever it was out, and I couldn't find anything. I started it again and it still sounded horrible.
When I reached down again, I felt a little piece of metal. When I pulled it out, it was gold. My heart sunk. I ran upstairs and looked in my jewelry box. One of my worst nightmares had come true - My wedding ring was gone.
I started crying and tried to find as much of it as I could. It was mangled and all the diamonds were gone. I cried all morning. I called our insurance company, and it isn't covered since it wasn't stolen (that is a story in itself).
When Dan came home, he tore everything apart and didn't find anything. It is a total loss!!!

I feel so bad for you. What a sick feeling to have. I know it can never be replaced but I wonder if there is anyway to use the gold and diamonds to form a new ring? Hope your day is better today.

Oh my gosh Brig! How terrible! That kind of feeling just makes you want to throw up! I am so sorry!
Oh - how sad! That is definitely a no-good horrible sad day. I'm so sorry for you! (p.s. this is alison's friend Heather)
Brigit! That makes me so sad for you! I can't even imagine. I would definately cry too. What are you going to do? Our neighbor lost her ring and her husband got her a new huge 2-carat ring for Christmas. Maybe you'll get lucky too! (Come on Dan!) :)
