We had a great time seeing Perry, Brett, Dave, Doug, Zach and Brayden. Next year we need Mitch, Darrin, and Bill to come out.

I have convinced the guys that it is now time for the girls to get together. They all agreed, so lets take advantage!!!

The best part of the entire "extreme sports weekend" (hockey, baseball, football, bowling and skydiving) was seeing them all crammed in the mini-van. Doug said that he will take charge of the car rental next year.

Thanks again for coming out!! We loved it!!!

The Guy's Weekend in Denver

Cruisin' 2007

We just got back from our second cruise yesterday. Everyone had a great time but dad didn't like the heat too much. We went on the Carnival cruise lines. The food was great and they had so much to offer. We went with a bunch of friends from church. Mark and Anna had fun in Camp Carnival while Matt and Jessica were having fun hanging out with their friends. It was nice to get a break and for the kids to get out of school for a week.

The places the cruise ship stopped at were Jamaica, The Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. In Jamaica we went to a private resort. There were paddle boats, kayaks, a water park, and of course the beach. In Grand Cayman we went to Sting Ray City where we got to hold, kiss, and feed the sting rays. Then we went snorkeling for a little bit. In Cozumel, we went snorkeling for four hours and did a little bit of shopping.

Formal dining was one of the best parts. The food was delicious. Our waiters were a lot of fun too. Every night they sang a different song or did a different dance. They were so funny.

Week in Cancun!

Hi, everyone! I wanted to post some pictures of our trip. For some reason these are all I could post. It wouldn't let me do more--and there are a lot more. We had a blast in Cancun! I think we pretty much hit just about everything: ruins, parasailing, snorkeling, dolphins, the beach, the resort pool (several times) and even feeding an iguana, which run wild everywhere! It was fun to have my sister and Darrin, Kris and Nick with us. We hated to come home to snow! It was a really fun trip and I recommend it to anyone who has never been! Hope everyone is well! Keep on Bloggin'!

Christmas Anyone???

I am not sure if anyone still checks this blog. It seems like my last post has been on here forever.

I was wondering what your thought were for Christmas. Does anyone want to draw names? If so, do you want to draw families, grandkids only, couples, etc.?

We would love to do anything. It is a great way for our kids to keep intouch with their cousins. If nobody is up to it, we are fine with that too.

Please let me know your thoughts as soon as you can. With Brett, Dave, Doug, and Perry coming out in a few weeks, we could send our gifts home with them!!

Cole's Baby

Hi,everyone! I know its been a while since I've posted anything so I will try to play catch up on what my life has been--which is not much but running kids to their different activities. Here are just some pictures of latest events.

Haley played soccer this year on Brayden's team. (2 and 3 graders play together) Haley had fun and Brayden tried to get over having his "she doesn't know what she's doing" sister on his team.

Nate and Brayden just had birthdays. The times goes too fast.

Our house is moving along. I am getting more and more excited as it moves along. I am excited to start picking things out.

Zach is loving football. I can't get good action shots because he's always moving and far away. He played last night and had a great game. He caught 4 passes and did great on defense. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and they still lost --to Sugar!! Brett could hardly handle it. Well, I know this blog is all messed up and the pictures come before their descriptions, but such is my life sometimes. Hope you are all well! love, Kara

Fun Cookout

We just wanted to tell you all thanks for coming to our house last Saturday for an end of the summer cookout. As you all felt, it was definately end of the summer! Sorry it was so cold. But it was fun to see you all, and thanks for all the yummy food! Here's the recipe for the Berry Delight. (Dave opened the fridge on Sunday morning and this was piled on top of some other food and it slid right out and crashed all over the floor. I didn't even know it happened, and came downstairs to find Dave wiping up glass and whip cream. What a mess!)

Berry Delight

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup sugar (divided)
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 pkg. (8 oz) cream cheese, soft (ok to use 1/3 less fat, not non-fat)
2 1/2 cups + 2 Tbs. cold milk
3 1/2 cups cool whip (thawed)
2 pints strawberries hulled and halved
2 pkg (4 servings each) Jello Vanilla Instant Pudding

1st Layer: Combine crumbs, 1/4 sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly into 9 x 13 pan. Chill 15 minutes.

2nd Layer: Beat cream cheese, 1/4 sugar, and 2 Tbs. milk until smooth. Fold in half of cool whip. Spread over crust. Arrange half of berries in even layer.

3rd Layer: Using 3.5 cups cold milk, prepare pudding as directed on package. Pour over berries. Chill several hours or overnight.

4th Layer: Top off with cool whip and the rest of the berries.

Abbie's First Day of Preschool

I wanted to share a few pics of Abbie's first day back to preschool. She is in the "pre-kindergarten" program this year. I am having a hard time with the fact that she is growing up.

Oh, the bruise on her forehead is from a golf ball that Cole threw at her. Poor thing!!

Labor Day Weekend

Hi All,

I hope that everyone had an enjoyable weekend. We had a lot of fun. On Friday I got an inch to get out of town, so I called and booked us a hotel room in Rapid City, South Dakota! We woke up on Saturday and made the 5 hour drive. The hotel we stayed at had a huge waterpark, so we spent all evening swimming. Afterward, we ordered pizza and watched a movie in our hotel room.

Sunday morning we woke up and drove to Mount Rushmore. It was awesome!! The kids loved it and became "Junior Rangers". We then toured some caves and drove back to Colorado. It was a really quick trip, but we managed to wear the kids out!!!

I hope things are going well for everyone. We sure enjoyed seeing Michael and Debbie last Tuesday. I hope that all went well for you Debbie!! Please keep the posts coming - we love to hear from everyone!! Happy Bday Kris!!

Hey everyone, it has been cute seeing everyone's school pictures! Peyton still has a few years to go but here's some recent pictures of him! They other day I was on the computer and Peyton was just playing in his room. He has a drawer in the bottom of his crib where I keep some of his clothes and diapers, anyway he pulled out all the diapers and climbed in!! I wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing, I could only hear in the background little giggles when I turned to find him successfully in his drawer!

We also went swimming with Dave and Al a while ago, Peyton was a little iffy about the water slide but he always has so much fun in the pool! I think he's a little young for waterslides! :)

Peyton and Julia ( my brothers little girl) were playing the piano the other day at my moms house. They were having the time of their lives pounding away!

Anyway, thing are going well at our house and good luck to everyone in school!!

Kyler's Kindergarten

Hi all,
I've loved seeing your kid's first days of school. What an exciting time of year! Kyler loved Kindergarten yesterday and was really excited to ride the bus this morning. He should be home in about 45 minutes. I'm anxious to see how his 2nd day went.

I made your school-bus cupcakes, Brigit, and can I just say yours turned out a lot cuter than mine! The only black squeeze frosting I had kept coming out in globs. Needless to say we ruined a few school-busses trying to make it work and then gave up. :) (See my other blog.) But it was alot of fun making them and the kids loved it. So thank you for a fun idea! I hope Tyce's first week of first grade is going well. I'm sure it's a big adjustment for a kid to be gone most of the day!

And Katie, the crepe recipe looks fabulous. Dave asked for crepes for dinner the other night. And cute pictures of Dylan at school. I'm glad you got to go in with him. I wished I could've gone in with Kyler but his teacher said the room was much too crowded to have all the students and their moms. But I stayed a little while after Kyler went in so I could peek in and see how he was doing.

I hope all is well for everyone, with school and all. I would love to see more pictures of everyone, it's so fun. Debbie, let us know how it goes taking Michael to BYU. We're thinking of you. And good luck, Bev and Perry, with the move this weekend!

Dylan's First Day of 1st Grade

Dylan is now a first grader!!! I can't believe he is old enough to go to school all day. It is so crazy. His favorite part was lunch and recess. It sounds like he is taking after his mom! :)
His school was cancelled today which was a bummer. They didn't have water for some reason. We didn't know until they were at school though, so we didn't even get to sleep in.

So here is a recipe for crepes that I thought were yummy. This makes a lot so if you are just doing it for your family, I would half it. It is a good way to use up peaches. I love them with strawberries too.


Crepes

4 eggs
2 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1 cube margarine
3 cups milk
1 tsp salt

Mix in a blender and pour into a greased 6 inch round fry pan. Cook like a pancake and then put chopped strawberries, peaches or whatever fruit in middle with whipped cream. Roll up like a taco and eat. Yummy!

The First Day of First Grade

I can't believe that my baby is in first grade!! It was quite exciting today when I realized that the "full-time student" of the family wasn't Dan!! Tyce was so excited to use his new "backpack suitcase" and his new lunch box. Overall he had a fun day, but he was pretty tired when he got home.

Porter Park

We had a fun time at Porter Park with you all, and seeing Dan and Brigit and kids. We hope Tyce's head is feeling better! When does he get the staples out? Hope you're having a great trip in spite of that! Here are a couple pictures of a few of the kids on the merry-go-round. I wish I could've gotten pictures of all the kids.
